emuse were last night honoured as double award winners at the IP&TV World Forum 2011 gala awards dinner held at Madame Tussauds in London. In partnership with long-time collaborators Deutsche Telekom AG, emuse were winners in the new 'Best TV app' and prestigious 'Best On-Demand Solution or Implementation for IP, Hybrid or Connected TV Award' categories.
The 'Best TV App' award recognizes excellence in an application which can be accessed via a TV-based application environment. The award was judged on-site at this week's IP&TV World Forum in London Olympia from the vast array of applications being showcased at the event. The winning application was an advanced advertising showcase developed by emuse for Deutsche Telekom to pave the way for a launch of creatively compelling advanced advertising and content promotion on Deutsche Telekom's T-Home IPTV platform across Europe. The showcase highlighted innovative forms of interactive, display and VOD advertising for advertisers including L'Oreal, Mercedes Benz, Bitburger, T-Mobile and Dr Oetker.
The prestigious 'Best On-Demand Solution or Implementation for IP, Hybrid or Connected TV' award recognizes the best on-demand technology for delivering a TV service over an IP network. Once again, emuse in collaboration with Deutsche Telekom were the winners of this award for the LIGAtotal! application. The application enables LIGA total! subscribers to create their own personalized 'live conference' and watch only those matches they are really interested in. Via the application menu, viewers can select the prime game along with secondary games on which they wish to be updated. An event alarm keeps viewers updated at all times and as soon as a goal is scored, a penalty given, or an exciting move is underway in one of the other games selected, the event alarm informs the viewer by means of an image-in-image function. Using the remote control, viewers can then decide whether they want to watch that particular scene 'picture in picture' or full screen. Further to this world first functionality, at any time viewers can call up widgets that display the latest rankings, an overview of the results, a live league table and the list of leading goal scorers. In the events archive, viewers can call up all goals of all goal scorers from throughout the season.
The IP&TV World Forum remains the world foremost industry event for hybrid, connected and IP delivered television. The 2011 awards were judged by a prestigious panel of senior and expert individuals, drawn from cable and telecom operators and representing a cross-section of leading service providers from around the world brought together to recognise innovation, excellence and achievement within the global IP and connected TV industry.
Patrick Rainsford, the CEO of emuse, commented 'We are delighted to be double award winners with Deutsche Telekom.
