emuse, FOXTEL and MCn sign exclusive long-term deal to create and deploy Australian interactive advertising
Sydney, Australia, 30th April 2008 - Following the signing of a major deal, leading international interactive advertising service provider emuse will now become the preferred technology partner for interactive advertising on Australia's FOXTEL television platform. The deal between emuse, FOXTEL and Multi Channel Network (MCn), Australia's primary subscription television sales group, will run for an initial three year period.

The three companies will work together across a range of areas. In addition to developing and offering interactive advertising, emuse, FOXTEL and MCn will also create and supply a number of standardised iAD products to the market, including Impulse Response campaigns and immersive Dedicated Advertiser Locations (DALs). emuse will also support mobile activity through SMS and third-party broadcasters on FOXTEL.

"Having this deal with FOXTEL means we can offer a comprehensive range of services to the Australian market," says Patrick Rainsford CEO emuse technologies. "As we work with leading broadcasters world-wide it is ideal for us to also be working with a top tier broadcaster in Australia," he concludes.

Patrick Delany, FOXTEL's Executive Director of Content, Development and Delivery, said: "Interactive TV advertising is the new world of advertising and FOXTEL will deliver it first and best. We are delighted to partner with emuse and MCn to provide iAds.

FOXTEL is the first Australian broadcaster to become 100 percent digital from broadcaster to customer premises so iAds are a natural digital progression. Our viewers love the digital interactive programming we introduced in 2004 and we have a lot of experience and success with iTV we will now extend to iAds.

Our new partnership will mean more interactive programs and applications getting to air quicker and more cost effectively. International experience, which we will draw upon, is that iAds can be more effective, engaging and accountable.

With all the Australian Free To Air television networks now being carried on FOXTEL, we have extended the iAds opportunity to the Free To Air networks as well. We expect strong interest in our iAds service from all participants in advertising."

MCn will remain the sales gateway for interactive subscription television commercials. MCn will now sell both linear and iADs, and emuse and FOXTEL will then work together to get them to air.

Anthony Fitzgerald, CEO Multi Channel Network said: "The partnership with emuse will take our interactive advertising offering to the next level - delivering an i-Ad product that is faster to-air, and substantially more cost effective. This will both deepen and broaden the i-Ad market in Australia and should provide an easy entrance point for brands which have yet to trial the i-Ad format. As we have seen in the UK market, we would expect to see i-Ad take up become standard on most major campaigns within the next few years"'

Working with FOXTEL and MCn in Australia adds yet another new territory to emuse's reach as they already have a dominant presence in the interactive market in the UK with exclusive deals with key broadcasters including ITV, C4, Viacom, C5, S4C. emuse is also actively working with, amongst others Echo Star in the USA and Sky in New Zealand.
