In 1980, after a career in Investment Banking, he set up National leasing & Finance Co., a large ticket lease broking operation, and since 1990 he has operated as a venture capitalist and has served on the Board of a number of high tech companies, participating in Audit and Remuneration Committees and assisting in developing strategies.
