Prior to the establishment of Xsil, Peter was a founder and CEO of MV Technology Ltd. which he sold to Agilent Technologies in March 2001 for cash consideration in excess of €100 million. In its five years from start up, MVT became one of the world's leading suppliers of inline AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) tools and solutions for the electronic assembly and PCB manufacturing industries. With over 400 tools installed worldwide, MVT's customers included Nokia, Motorola, Mitsubishi, Sagem, and several other Fortune 500 companies.

In parallel with the development of Xsil, Peter was a founder and NED of emuse Corporation, a leading developer of interactive software for digital television. At the start of his career, Peter worked with Ernst & Young in corporate and international tax and accounting. He then joined the I.D.A. (Industrial Development Authority of Ireland) as an investment advisor, he spent many years as a project manager in the Enterprise Development Unit advising a large number of substantial start-ups. In addition he was a director to being a NED for several companies including Lightband Corporation Ltd., Mirabilis Ltd and APAX Capital Partners Ireland Ltd.

Peter is also a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and the Institute of Directors in London. Peter holds a DBS in business studies, is a Barrister at Law, a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, and a Member of the Institute of Taxation.
