| Tom began his career with Jefferson Smurfit Group, a diversified paper and packaging group, holding a variety of general management positions in Ireland and Asia before joining Goldman Sachs & Co. in London. As an investment banker at Goldman Sachs Tom provided corporate finance advice and executed M&A transactions for clients including Ford Motor Co., Gallaher Group, ICI, Teijin Japan and major European media companies. In late-2002 Tom joined Lion Capital, a venture capital and private equity investment firm based in London.
Tom graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and holds a Master of Business Studies degree from the UCD Graduate School of Business.
